Yet again, keywords come into play. You need to know the organic search traffic your keywords can bring in and how competitive they are. For a new website, start with a less difficult keyword or long-tail keyword that will bring organic traffic, but not leave you struggling to rank. As your authority grows, you can expand into those tougher to rank keywords down the road. Remember SEO is continuous... Have a long term plan for continual keyword development
Now that you have your keywords, it is good practice to infuse them throughout each page. Make sure your url, titles, headers, and content all have your primary keywords for best on-page results. If you have images on your page, use alt tags & title tags that describe the photo and use your keywords.
Keep your Meta Tags under 300 characters, but remember the importance of this content. You are capturing your page & your brand in a short description that is intended to convince the audience to check you out. This is what will show in search engine and will be more effective if they include your targeted keywords.
There is a mix of opinions on the value of content these days, but I still try to keep between 1000-1500 words on each page. You may see this page is slightly shorter than prescribed, however when it comes to content development, I prefer to start short and sweet and add valuable content as I go.
Where it makes sense you should be creating links between all content pages and your home page. If you notice in this training the logical links are "Next Lesson". Logical flow should be considered when internally linking your pages
Not everything will be contained in your page. It is healthy to link out to credible sources that align with your content. I would net necessarily say link to your competition (which is an option), but the better option is similar niche content that does not compete with your initiative.
There are various software programs out there that will allow you to generate social and direct traffic to your website. Usually a monthly paid service, but a nice boost for a new business.
Reach out to similar niche blogs that you do not really compete with, there is opportunity to network and get a promotional post and link directly to your page. You can also use paid services for guest posts. I use FIVERR
This is an easy way to generate traffic, primarily helpful when you are looking for opt-ins to build your list. The money is in the list when it comes to affiliate marketing and promotional campaigns.
